I thought this was alright. It was definitely no match for real smoked brisket and the depth of flavor. I bought the brisket at a whole sale society, so I just doubled the recipe as it fit in my crock pot. Make sure to have big containers of paprika, pepper, or other flavorings as it uses quite a lot. I am pretty sure it will all be eaten, only recall I will get back to existent smoked meat.

Very good, very easy. I've always wrapped my brisket in foil to brand it in the crockpot. This recipe is great. I cooked mine o n low for nearly eight hrs. The family unit actually liked it. Nosotros did try to employ the sauce from the drippings but too fatty to be proficient. Mayhap a practiced arctic first? Volition definitely do this again.

I Really LIKE THE RUB; I Permit IT MARINADE FOR OVERNIGHT AND Melt THE BRISKET IN MY WEBER ON INDERECT HEAT FOR 5 HOURS
03/08/2014
The rub is quite versatile! I added a fleck more liquid smoke to the sauce and used Sweet Baby Ray's Original. Cooked on HIGH for five hours (one-1/ii lb. brisket) till fork-tender. To the juices I whisked in one/2 cup ketchup and ane/2 loving cup apple butter and reduced by one-half over medium rut on the stovetop. Succulent!

MUCH Also SALTY. I followed the recipe exactly as information technology was written. Cut the spices at to the lowest degree in half or plan on a SUPER SALTY meal!
03/13/2014
Extremely easy recipe. It was very good. I used a 2.85 Lb brisket, merely there was plenty rub in the origial recipe to cover information technology. I upped the onion to a whole i, considering nosotros like cooked onion. And i put information technology under the brisket, instead of on top. Nonetheless, I don't think I'm a cumin person. And then next time, I'll either reduce, or remove information technology from the rub.

Ive made this twice and really enjoy this recipe. Information technology had a decent smokiness to It and was good to set and forget. The rub It's phenomenal. I must repeat myself here, the rub Is then skillful... I made it the get-go time with regular paprika and It turned out smashing. The second time I substituted one-half of the (regular) paprika with chipotle powder. Add some additional liquid smoke to requite y'all some smokiness if you lot apply regular paprika in lieu of smoked.

this is an awesome easy recipe. I followed information technology to the exact recipe and it turned out overnice and tender. I used Kraft Honey BBQ sauce. I just wished I would take cooked the whole four pound brisket. I am doing the other half afterward in the week. Information technology is and so full of flavor and is fork tender. Yummm!!!!
07/25/2014
This came out delicious! I used a 2 lb brisket and left out the cumin (I don't treat its flavor). I as well trimmed the fat off before putting the spices on. My crock pot cooks fast and hot (unfortunately) so information technology only took mine 5 hours and information technology was falling apart and moist. I added some actress Worcestershire sauce right earlier serving. Absolutely delicious and volition definitely make again!!

Ive made this twice at present - second time, which was today, I used a chuck roast instead of a beefiness brisket. Everyone loved it. I use the rub as follows - I but make sure I spread it all over the meat and permit it sit a little bit while I get everything else gear up. I don't strength myself to utilize all the rub, only enough to coat the meat. Too, a note about the rub - Ive been using it to make salad dressing. I make a batch of it - store it in a glass jar and use it equally needed. To brand salad dressing I pour a footling in a small glass jar - perhaps 1 tsp and then I add about 2-3 tbsp olive oil and i.5 - ii tbsp apple tree cider vinegar and a little squish of love. If I don't utilize it all on my lunch salad I bring the leftover home and add together more to the jar the next mean solar day for lunch. Merely an FYI - information technology makes an Amazing salad dressing!!

Didn't care for this--no match for the grill slow cooked method. I did not add any h2o-the slow cooker method is watery enough. Information technology was too salty...and the sauce was too watery for usa. I won't use this again.

I fabricated this terminal weekend for a family party and it was gone in a minute! I cutting the amount of salt and liquid fume in half and didn't actually demand the full amount of the rest of the spices to adequately comprehend a 3 pound brisket. I trimmed some of the fat, pierced the roast all over, and then marinated it in the dry rub overnight. I'll brand this again!
01/23/2017
used a three.5 lb brisket simply did't double corporeality of spice rub - was enough to cover unabridged corporeality of meat. Used 1 whole onion, just could've used 2 onions! Will definitely brand again!
03/28/2017
Wow, thought this was awesome!! I did follow some of the other posters' comments and added a lot less Kosher table salt and less chili pulverisation. Otherwise followed the recipe. Simply thing was did not have as much time to marinate/cook. Volition try this again before long and allow more time to marinate and cook on low.
08/06/2016
This was very quick and easy to brand! I did Not become a chance to marinate it, I went to the shop in the AM and put information technology in the slow cooker before piece of work, allow it get for 12 hours, and it was still full of flavour and succulent. I saw a review saying this was salty, I followed the recipe's measurements and my boyfriend (who is usually opposed to salty food) loved information technology and had no problem!
03/05/2015
Succulent! All the same, I merely needed half the spices to glaze meat. I used Sonny'southward BBQ sauce and didn't add whatever water. Only marinated for 1 hour. Will definitely exist making this in time to come since it'southward easy and then tasty.
11/07/2015
I actually enjoyed making this and eating it! My husband and I also enjoy smoking meat and this was correct up there with smoking successes nosotros've had using the same meat. Followed recipe exactly and was concerned information technology was go to be besides spicy for my gustatory modality but it was but fabulous! Cheers for sharing it! -SLangston
11/28/2017
Just doesn't stand up to the real smoked brisket that I am used to eating. Meat gets sort of stringy and seasoning is a picayune besides much. Made only one alter - used less cumin. Will non brand again.
12/27/2016
Uncomplicated and delicious!! One note - my crockpot has time settings instead of temperature. I chose the viii hr setting, to have a lower temperature, but then only cooked it for 5 1/2 hours. My brisket was a little over 2lbs. Came out perfect!! No knife required!!
07/25/2017
Super tender. I also cut off the fat before hand. Loved the rub. I used a 3 pound brisket and did not add together more to the rub recipe. I seared my meat on both sides, permit it cool, used the rub and put it in a goose egg lock bag in the refrigerator overnight. The next day super piece of cake to make. Made the charcoal-broil portion of the recipe. Cooked in the crockpot on low for vi hours. Tender across believe. Tasted perfect. Non too salty for me not too hot either, perfect.
10/06/2016
Before placing in slow cooker I got the exterior nice and crispy on the stove. Definey helps go more flavor. Adjacent time I would reduce the amount of cumin . Omit h2o and add a tablespoon of cider vinegar and some garlic. I used a chuck roast instead of brisket and reduced the cooking time.
05/27/2016
Beloved Love admittedly beloved the dry rub!!!! Take fabricated this several times and always get asked to make more
09/08/2015
Decent flavor. Agree with comments on rub. Halve the rub for a one.five lb brisket. I cooked a three lb and it was borderline besides much. I have had improve brisket out of oven. Probably will non make again.
02/15/2016
Loved this. Used beer instead of water. Skipped salt since some said also salty.
04/02/2019
Absolutely succulent! I bought some brisket points from Aldi and used them to make this recipe. It ripped autonomously like butter and tasted delicious! Highly recommended! The one thing I would say is that the recipe makes manner besides much of the rub. I had nearly 2 tablespoons worth left over.
02/17/2016
This was awesome. Non a brisket fan merely with this recipe..yesssss. Not smokey either..just beefy flavor through and through.
04/16/2019
loved information technology! married man says nosotros could open a restaurant with this brisket! used 1.65 pd brisket made co-ordinate to recipe. had to actually rub the spices in to utilize all the spices and still had some left over.served with corn on the cob and mashed potatoes.
10/23/2017
The whole family loved it. I read the notes, and adapted the recipe a little. Did not add the Cumin, and was low on paprika and so substituted the rest with a chipotle seasoning i had on hand. Nosotros used this amazing BBQ sauce that we had purchased at a food fair. Just without the bbq - the meat was delicious!! Thanks for anybody's input, this is definitely a keeper.
08/18/2020
Super salty fifty-fifty using less than the recommended amount.
10/01/2018
Yep. Yes. Yes. I would definitely make this over again and share it with friends and family! Easy to brand, delicious and tender to eat!
01/24/2017
It unusual for me not to brand a few ca

I halved the chilli pulverization, quartered the pepper and it was wonderful! Information technology took half-dozen hours in the slow cooker plus i/ii hour on warm. I served it in tacos with tomato, lettuce, avocado and sour cream. The sauce is delicious; a worthy dipping sauce (note to self). Next fourth dimension I volition use more chilli pulverization and a little more than pepper, considering the spiciness was a little lost. Definitely make this for visitors - my worthiness scale.
08/15/2020
Overall the gustatory modality was skillful! JUST GOOD! The recipe was super easy. I cooked it for about 6 one/ii hours in a dutch oven at 210 degrees. Information technology WAS VERY SALTY THOUGH. I got past the salty-ness and enjoyed the flavor but information technology was definitely something to consider (the table salt). I doubled the recipe for my family, and served it with mixed vegetables and cornbread.
07/08/2020
Easy and succulent!
09/21/2017
My family loved it - I added some A1 sauce into the BBQ sauce mix. It was probably un
03/06/2017
Tried this this evening, did the rub terminal night put in crockpot this morning. No ane would eat information technology including me. Rub tasted nasty, over powered this bbq sauce, 6 lbs of meat tossed out
08/16/2020
Non bad. I'm going to tweak information technology a flake and meet if we similar it ameliorate. I cut the salt in half and still felt it was as well salty, so I will make that adjustment next time. My husband likes sweeter barbecue and I will add more brown sugar adjacent fourth dimension.
08/21/2018
I made every bit is. Wouldn't change a single matter. Will brand again. Ty.
02/07/2019
I of the best things I've made in my slow cooker! Used a iii lb brisket. Plenty of rub for that if you follow the recipe. Common salt tin be cutting dorsum, and I added an extra tablespoon of brown sugar. Did not add water at all, simply added chopped celery and carrots, they provided enough moisture for a sauce.
07/09/2021
As well much seasoning for a 1 1/2 pound brisket. I used 2/3 of the seasoning suggested in this recipe on a 5 pound brisket and it was too salty. There needs to be a note nigh how much and how to apply the rub.
02/fourteen/2019
I will brand it once more. I left out a couple ingredients because I didn't take on hand. I don't think that fabricated a difference. It was succulent.
07/16/2019
Very Tasty! Changed Rub by cutting down on Salt and Pepper to two teaspoons from two Tablespoons.
02/10/2019
I reduced the salt as previous comment besides much chilli for me very tender and nice sauce. Volition make again.
01/24/2019
fantastic flavour, juicy and succulent! (i omitted the chili pepper for the kid'south sake only other than that) wouldn't change a thing
12/23/2017
I made this as directed
10/12/2019
I made this exactly as written. I used Rufus Teague Honey Sweetness sauce. It's non my favorite, simply it's what I had on hand. The reason I gave it a three is because it was far too peppery for my mouth and my taste. I couldn't fifty-fifty finish one serving of it. I'm going to try adding sugar to the residuum of it and see if I can make information technology palatable for me. I too would take preferred a smokier sense of taste. If I utilize this recipe once again I will add twice equally much smoke flavoring. Over all information technology was easy to make and I had all of the ingredients on manus, which was convenient.
01/04/2020
So I had my center prepare on making this only when I got to our grocery store there was no brisket available. Actually there wasn't a heck of a lot of choices in the beef section. I bought some Beefiness country style ribs. Removed the one bone that was still attached and prepared exactly as written (I did leave the rub on overnight). Excellent!! Can't look to try with an actual brisket, but the seasoning and sauce that it makes is tasty with other cuts of beefiness.
12/06/2016
Came out ever and then slightly on the dry side but just pouring the juices on fabricated it actually delicious. I would trim more fatty off the brisket first adjacent time.
03/17/2021
Then I made this recipe with a trivial twist in that I looked upwardly a recipe for brisket, but what I really had was corned beefiness. Lol. So if anyone out there is wondering how this would gustation with corned beef, it was very good! A little salty, just I would definitely do it again.
06/09/2019
I didn't have whatsoever smoked paprika or liquid smoke in the house only information technology turned out great anyway. I did use some seasoning salt in the rub which contains paprika and salt.
08/19/2017
I thought this recipe was expert. It had a dandy flavor, only as with whatever meat dish in a tiresome cooker you don't know how it volition turn out until its done. A little dry out, but slow cook meat unremarkably turns out like that. Volition endeavour again, simply volition alter cook time.
03/09/2020
YES LOVED Information technology! Did non and will not make any changes
03/x/2020
This was easy to brand and very tasty!
09/01/2017
Ameliorate than any of the jarred brisket starters out there! Fantastic!
04/21/2019
Sooo good. My family loved it. Fabricated some of the changes in the comments and it was fork tender and delicious!
02/24/2019
I've made this three times. It is so like shooting fish in a barrel and really good
12/27/2018
The amounts of each spice for the rub seemed style too high.
07/29/2019
Turned out great!
12/09/2018
This was a HUGE hitting in my house.
10/19/2019
Next time I will cut salt and pepper in rub. Increased smoke in sauce. Doubled the bq sauce. Wife said it was too much. Hi Very good and recipe is elementary.
08/22/2021
I don't own a smoker, merely I came across this recipe and it was easy enough, plus I had all of the ingredients. So I decided to go with this one and I followed the recipe exactly as written, it turned out very moist and tender and was very skillful, you definitely demand the liquid smoke, I will make this ane again, it'll be so good served on a bun with coleslaw the next twenty-four hour period for dejeuner
12/07/2020
Loved it! I used 2lbs of brisket & adjusted accordingly. I took the advice of some other reviews, just used ii tsp of salt (not 2 tbs). I concord that 2 tbs of salt is way too much, remember, at that place is common salt in the bbq sauce. The rub is wonderful! Didn't take smoked paprika, used regular paprika & a lil more chili powder. Also, added a cup of spicy ketchup and ane/2 cup more bbq sauce, and chose the option to utilise h2o. Non familiar with the strength of liquid smoke so next time, I will use more. Overall really good recipe! FYI: It DEFINATELY took the full seven hrs for mine to cook until it fell apart.
09/thirty/2020
The reason I gave information technology such a lower review is it was so vague when it came to setting the temperature. What does "low" hateful exactly? This is one of the most important pieces of the recipe and the author couldn't exist bothered to actually give a temperature for us to follow. I know all smokers take a temperature approximate.
01/08/2017
I thought it was but okay. Not as flavorful as I was expecting. It was a decent commencement to a wonderful dinner creation.
xi/18/2018
Actually liked this, I added a little chip more liquid smoke.
05/31/2017
This made a great brisket. The spice rub helped requite information technology a bit of a smoky flavor. The meat was not dry.
01/15/2017
I would cut the rub in half next fourth dimension and get rid of the chili pulverization its too hot; I like my food to be balmy.
04/02/2018
I definitely added more onions and it actually cooked for my whole work fourth dimension 8 hours. It'south was rima oris watering DELICIOUS! Can't expect to practise it over again.
01/02/2019
This was uncomplicated and easy to make, turned out tender, but not falling apart. My only proffer is make certain you lot savour the cumin season , as information technology is an caused taste and somewhat overpowering.
02/08/2017
I have made this several times and it is the best. Big on flavor and tender. Anybody I take served this to has besides given it a five star rating.
05/27/2020
The recipe was actually salty. I am really bummed because the meat is not edible at all due to how salty it is. If I try this again, I will use only an 8th of the listed salt, if that. This was a very expensive lesson.
04/thirty/2019
My wife is from Longview, TX and she really loved this recipe.
06/20/2020
Meat was tough and chewy (never had this problem with brisket earlier). Might plough out meliorate if the meat was browned first, or cooked for longer?
12/06/2015
This recipe does not demand 3 Tbs of chili powder. Information technology totally overpowers the gustatory modality of the meat. Next time I'll use one/3 corporeality of chili powder and double the amount of dark-brown saccharide.
11/thirteen/2016
Awesome! Very tender. Nosotros made information technology every bit per recipe.
07/30/2017
I made this on the grill and it turned out keen! I used all the dry out ingredients as a rub and marinated it overnight. Information technology was wonderful and I will definitely make this once again.
05/31/2022
I used the rub and sauce, but baked at 275 in the oven in a covered dish, 6 hours for 5 pounds. Perfection!
